The Last of my 20's

Today I brought my coffee with me to the shower. My cup of morning perfection that I so seldom enjoy while still hot. It was done out of desperation. The need for a quiet moment. If you are a mother of little children, you understand the feeling. As I stood in the shower with eyes closed, savoring the bliss of hot water and hot coffee together (why have I never thought to do this before?!?) I realized that at 29 years old I am a way different person than I was at 20, and changing every day. Being a mother is humbling. Growing older is humbling. The 20 year old know-it-all I once was now understands how little I knew at all. Somehow acknowledging that opens up doors for learning new things and becoming a better person. I'm not afraid of 30. I'm looking forward to gaining more wisdom and life experience and being a better me. I want to give my best effort to the people and projects that matter most, and cut down on the mental clutter of too many hobbies and commitments.

Shower time sadly over, it's time to face the chaos that is my beautiful family. It won't be perfect. It will probably be tough. But I love my three little munchkins and I wouldn't have life any other way. And hey, at least I got to drink my coffee hot.
